NAELPA Executive Board members serve three-year terms, beginning July 1 and ending June 30 of the third year.
The Executive Board consists of nine (9) elected members, including:
Six (6) State Directors who serve in officer roles
Three (3) Local Education Agency (LEA) representatives who serve as Members-at-Large
Board leadership follows a succession pathway: Vice President → President-Elect → President.
All other elected positions are held for the full three-year term.
The Executive Board includes six (6) officer positions:

Membership Coordinator
In addition, the Board may include up to five (5) Advisory Board members.
The Immediate Past President automatically serves as an Advisory Board member for one additional year following their term.
